Lao Chai Tavan is the most favorite trekking route of Sapa Hill side. Within one day, you will not only witness the local life but also learn more about how is the rice cultivated, from when the seed sowed to harvest, until being served as cooked rice on your dinner table. The trip offers an opportunity to meet Black Hmong, Giay and Red Dao minorities as well as explore their different cultures.


Sapa Trek's guide and driver pick you up at your hotel then transferred to Lao Chai village, home of Black Hmong ethnic minority. Your trekking start from Lao Chai to Tavan village where the Giay ethnic minority hill tribe lives after passing the rice terrace fields and traditional house on stilts. Here you will be able to rest and enjoy a delicious local lunch prepared by your guide in a local house.
After lunch you continue to trek uphill and downhill, through largest terrace fields and a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. After reaching the waterfalls, you will take a rest nearby the Cau May bridge and start climbing uphill to a road where the car is ready for your journey back to Sapa.
